After an eight-year break, the Young Indians Champions League (YICL) returned with two days of spirited competition, bringing together teams from different districts across Tamil Nadu. Held at the PSG IMS Grounds on 1 and 2 August, the event brought together players, families, and supporters in a celebration of football, teamwork, and competitive spirit.
Coco Mama was proud to be the Title Sponsor of YICL 2026, adding a refreshing touch to the action-packed occasion. The complete Coco Mama range was showcased at the event, giving participants and visitors an opportunity to engage with the products and interact with the team. Coco Mama coconut water was also served as a refreshing drink for participants throughout the tournament.
Eight Years Later, YICL Was Back in Action
The return of YICL after eight years made the 2026 edition particularly special. Teams representing different districts of Tamil Nadu came together to compete, bringing their local pride and passion for the game to the field.
After two days of intense competition, Erode emerged as the champions, with Karur securing the second place and Coimbatore finishing third. The results reflected the competitive spirit that ran through the tournament, with every team bringing its own energy and determination to the game.
Five Flavours, Plenty of Favourites
With players constantly on the move, coconut water became a natural part of the event experience. Participants were refreshed with Coco Mama coconut water, while the product showcase gave families and visitors a chance to experience the wider range.
The five flavoured coconut waters: Jeera, Litchi, Apple, Mango, and Guava proved particularly popular. Participants and their families enjoyed tasting the different flavours, bringing plenty of enthusiasm to the Coco Mama experience. The range was complemented by Coco Mama Organic Coconut Water, offering the familiar taste of coconut in its organic form.
More Than a Product Showcase
The Coco Mama presence also created opportunities for direct conversations with participants and their families. Visitors engaged with the team to learn more about the products, ask questions, and share their impressions after tasting the range.
These interactions added a personal dimension to the event, with the Coco Mama stall becoming a place for people to pause between matches, discover different coconut water and culinary options, and connect with the brand.
A Championship Worth Celebrating
YICL 2026 brought together the excitement of competition and the warmth of a community coming together after eight years. The cheers from the sidelines, the determination on the field, and the enthusiasm of families made the two-day tournament a memorable celebration of sport.
As Title Sponsor, Coco Mama was delighted to be part of YICL’s return and to keep participants refreshed through the action. Congratulations to Team Erode on taking the championship, Team Karur on securing second place, and Team Coimbatore on finishing third.
For Coco Mama, the biggest highlight was being part of a celebration that brought players, families, and communities together with plenty of coconut water along the way.
